Not a Rolex
I owned one of these for about two years, and ended up selling it on eBay. It poverty-stricken down, and after a very expensive repair (had to send it back twice because they didn't get it right) I got rid of it. The construct quality is simply not 'there.' The warranty is cheap, too, for such a pricey keep an eye open for. Save your money and buy Rolex, although it's a lot more coin. They're built like a tank and have a seven-year assurance. It's the type of watch that you pass on to your kids. This Omega is definitely not.
Rolex also function its value, Omegas do not. That definitely should tell you something.

Part of Summary
I liked all the reviews here, benefit and bad. It helped me decide that I wanted a classic that my son would have long after I'm gone. And he'd be superior to get it fixed for decades to come if necessary. He just turned 2.
I sourced out some Polywatch at the same point as the Omega. And yes, the hesalite does scuff easy. But Polywatch buffs out the scuffs wonderful easy using a cotton makeup remover pad.
My Moon circumspect keeps exceptional time. I forgot to wind it once on the first weekend but after that, each morning I prevail upon sure. After a month it's still on the same time as my Blackberry.
Thanks to everyone that took the patch to write their review!

Stunner
Enough said. It is a notable generations over and is definitely a keeper. Is not the most precise watch (precise enough in my theory but does lose time, but frankly more often forget to wind it than it in fact losing noticeable time) or the most functional (no date) but it is most rugged, dependable, and chic than can be had at this price from any brand.

Bad gaze at
This is a terrifying watch. I bought mine 5 years ago and it's broken down 3 times. On two occassions it was out of covenant, so I had to pay over $500 to get it fixed. Maybe I got a dodgy one, but from the sounds of other reviews in here, I'm not the only one. Yes, it looks beneficial, but it's going to cost you an arm and a leg to service and it keeps terrible time. All in all a very bad secure. And by the way Omega servicing is useless. On both occassions it took them 6-8 weeks to employment my watch. My only hunch is that they get lots back, which really isn't a glowing reflection on the offering.

A proud holder of the 40th limited edition (silver apollo)
I have never splurged on a extravagance watch before in my life. Up to date, my most expensive watch had been a Movado, one that I enjoyed wearing greatly for the last 3-4 years. Recently I fixed it was time to invest in a timepiece that I would love, be very presentable in business, but not too tatty. Lastly, I wanted something that had good resale value instead of the me-toos that are now too commmon with so many models being released by every indulgence watch maker.
I ended up looking at the Moonwatch. I didn't get mine from Amazon - for that I am a first era Omega buyer and didn't want to go with Grey market. I visited a DutyFreeShop in Singapore here last Stygian and they had the limited edition of this same watch - (only 7969 was made) which came with a magnificent collectors case with a silver apollo coin and all the standards.
[...]
I chose to buy this version instead of the regular versions, and though it set me back >5Grand USD, I am amazed at how happy and proud I am as an holder of this timepiece.
The manual movement is great. I like winding this commonplace. The watchstore guy told me to do about 10 winds / day, and never overdo -it , or you'll break the pin. The restricted edition doesn't come in Sapphire crystal versions, which is keen-edged given its aim as a collector's item that resembled the original moon watches.
If you need a great watch, I would def go for this. Sapphire will be good if you want to go everyday with it. As my is the meagre edition, I intend on only wearing it on special occasions and will revert back to my Movado (which has sapphire), at engross areas like the airports, where I had many times been bumped by people. Evade these situations with this type of watch, and I'm sure you will be able to enjoy it for years and years.
Lastly, the self-winding inevitable has a great light ticking sound - I can already imagine my son wanting to steal this fetish from me in the future as it is just way cool.
With the way our Fed is printing money like no tomorrow, this is something I would take in estate of 5Grand of paper and enjoy for a lifetime.

Well recommended
I didn't buy this from Amazon - or any other of Amazon's vendors. Amazon has a greater price than I paid, but don't expect Omega to provide any warranty service. If you are okay with that, then by all means towards free to buy from the 'gray market' here or someplace like Costco, where you will sometimes see Omegas at discounted prices.
The be prepared itself is an amazingly beautiful timepiece for 1/3rd the price of a Rolex Daytona, which would be its equivelent in that disgrace. It is 40mm like the Daytona, and like that one, wears a little small commensurate to modern watches that are getting as large as 50mm (gross). However, ill-matched with some of those blingy monsters it just screams understated quality. I markedly like the seamonster on the back.
The chrono automatic keeps essentially made-to-order time, although remember, folks this isn't a quartz watch; it is completely orthodox for it to gain or lose the same amount in a day as a decent quartz does in a week. That said this one runs upstanding about perfect at +2 per day on my wrist. I pull the crown out for 1 minute, once per month and all is well. The power put is outstanding and it will run nearly all weekend on my dresser if I have been wearing it for awhile. The subdials are friendly to read and the lume is good, but not quite what you would see on a diver because the hands and indexes are smaller. The bracelet & secure is simply first rate and puts the much more expensive Rolex to shame.
As with any dead watch, find a good watchmaker (good ones are getting rigid to find so look around) and have this serviced every 5 years or when it starts runs down quickly or run immorally. Omega will do this for you too, but at a much higher price. It is out of warranty at that point, so I personnaly prefer assistance my local economy.
Given proper service, this is something you easily could archaic on to your children. Omega stocks parts for models 50 years or more old at this tactic.
Highly recommended - In a nutshell a qualty, yet affordable timepiece that you be entitled to to have spend a lifetime on your wrist.

A more correct review of the watch itself..
The maladjusted with half the reviews so far is that they're complaints about the vendor, not the watch itself. There are other ways to analysis the vendors/dealers that Amazon uses, not here on the product review. So far, I attachment this watch, love the way it looks & the compliments I get from it. It's a heavy watch, but that's not solitary to Omega, it's just all the internal components of an automatic watch. The diameter is consummate for me, not too oversized like some watches these days. It's got the perfect amount of info needed without looking too cluttered ( the blemished hand, date, chronograph.)
- Looks: This is a beautiful watch when the starlight catches the dials and it contrasts against the black face.
- Accuracy: No, it's not active to be as accurate as a quartz, but only requires adjustment every 3-4 weeks (and it's only off by 15-20 seconds)
- Value/comfort: It looks & feels great now, but the weight took some getting use to. If you're in the final analysis tall or have big wrists, then the 40mm face may feel too small. I had a watch machine shop remove the links for me, and yes there are smaller adjustments on the clasp. I don't feel the logo to b a disturbance, and I do agree that resurfacing the back of the watch is an idiotic move.

Needy customer service
I am bloody disappointed with the level of service provided by amazon after my purchase of this circumspect. Though they say a warranty card would be included with the product, it never was. Later, when i called up and asked why the undertaking wasn't included, a customer agent told me that it would follow through in the post a couple of weeks later.
Surprise, it didn't.
When i called them again to find out where the covenant was, another agent who barely spoke English informed me that the warranty is always included in the package and that it is never sent one by one. So whom do I believe? Its too late for me to return the product as it is over 30 days and I have no pledge card in the case of any repairs. Instead, all I was sent was an email coupling to the pdf version which I could have downloaded from the website anyway. i dread the day anything goes wrong with the look after because I have nothing in hand and have to deal with incompetent service people and inconsistent policies as an alternative.
My advice, pay the difference and get it from an authorised agent.

Wonderful Omega value.
Prime watch with wonderful and proven movement and Omega grade build. Being built off of the spell tested ETA/Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement this mind sets an example of what the Swiss watch industry stands for. Epitome looks, and most importantly quality mechanics. The 7750 movement is a wonderful no garnishing durable and reliable movement and has had all of its important components upgraded and replaced by Omega to bear it up to chronometer specifications. This watch is accurate well within +/- 2 seconds a day and and as far as that goes can go the whole month without resetting until the engagement must be changed. All in all excellent feel fit and finish. Just what you would expect from a importance watch manufacturer like Omega.

A number update to the classic moonwatch
The Omega Speedmaster is one of the most iconic watches in record, since it was chosen by NASA (over Rolexes, Breitlings, etc.) as the most space-worthy attend available, and was the first watch worn on the moon. Of course, that was 50 years ago, and the items that the Speedmaster still looks cool is an incredible testament to what a timeless design it has. Still though, the master Speedmaster ("Professional" it was called) does look a bit dated. This watch solves that obstreperous: it has a curved sapphire crystal (shinier and harder than the shatterproof tractable they used in space), and beautiful polished markers, emblems, and subdials. The pictures don't do it the law, as this watch looks thoroughly modern and beautiful, while still retaining the unchanging Speedmaster style. Do yourself a favor and go look at it in person at a jeweler. I also appreciate that it is 40mm. That is still brawny, but not stupid-huge like many other watches these days. The huge timepiece fad will pass soon, so you might regret buying something too large.
Omega started with the hearty valjoux 7750 movement, then modified it meet full COSC Watch accuracy standards for this watch, so it is also even more accurate than the original Moonwatch. The Speedmaster Ancient 3210.50 just has no downsides. Wear it with a business suit, or with shorts and a t-shirt. Buy this regard, and enjoy it for another 50 years --when it will still probably look great.
Note: Several "bad reviews" on here are not in reality reviewing this watch, they are reviewing Amazon and its partner resellers. It's urgent to understand that internet resellers (including Amazon) are considered "sunless market" (not quite black market, not quite legit). While you can be up to about 98% sure-fire watches online are authentic, there are no guarantees from Omega either way. They won't service it for you, they won't warranty it, and they won't sustain it's authentic. Therefore, you are at the mercy of whomever you buy it from. It's a tradeoff buying online.

Choicest most reliable mechanical chronograph ever!
I bought my Omega Speedmaster back in 1971 for about $160. Largest watch I've ever owned. I used it for over 30 years on a daily bottom as a stopwatch to set up,calibrate and optimize laboratory research systems. On any postulated day, I'd use it in this capacity maybe 5 times a day in various locations in my job as an Analytical Mead Engineer-consultant. I must have set up,tested, calibrated and optimized well over 1000 check in laboratories around the world.-Always using this watch as my essential timer.
In all those years, I've had it attended to only twice. Always by a certified, practiced Omega jeweler. DO NOT EVER use unauthorized jewelers to work on this watch - most of them have never seen this to until they get their hands on yours, and they don't have a clue what to do and how to do it. If you own such a wonderful chronograph, make certain you use true parts and an authentic Omega certified jeweler.
The first time for a replacement surveillance band - wore out the original- got one - an authentic metal watchband - from Omega along with a gratis mechanical inspection, cleaning, and calibration.
Second time, about 5 years ago, the start knob return spring broke, - after being pushed about 13,000 times by me. - took it to Omega certified into working order station. They did a complete overhaul, repair and cleaning for a few hundred bucks. Yard goods as new.
As a chronograph, this watch ALWAYS kept excellent time. A real exertion horse, and it beats out all my other various Rolex's and other Omega's.
I can't stand quartz,battery-operated powered watches. This Omega and I have a symbiotic relationship. The agreement is, I wind the vigilant, and the watch tells me what time it is -accurately and consistently.
Only thing is I long I had one of those "Made it to Moon" engraved backs on it. Perhaps Omega would consider providing me one?
If I were to buy another Omega Speedmaster- considering it for my sons, I'd be firm to purchase only an Omega Speedmaster with the engraved back casing that says - Made it to the Moon- AND I'd be sure to get the sapphire gem not the cheap helite plastic one. And I'd be certain to get the authentic Omega metal confederate with locking clasp.
OMEGA, how about it, offer me a new engraved back case in return for my 40 years of use of your wonderful consequence.
My favorite watch, my sons favorite watch. What else can I say? I luv it!!!!!!!!!!
You buy this watch, you get a battery-operated-free, heirloom! Use it daily and pass it down to future generations. When someone of your days progeny is stuck in a battery-less environment then he/she will be the only person in the group who will grasp what the accurate time is. So long as they regularly wind the watch. I'd stimulate mine every morning as I awoke.

Omega Speedmaster Reduced
I will distribute with the history and reputation of the watch and provide my personal recommendation and observations of the component I purchased. For Omega Speedmaster history and product information, there is plenty of content on the manufacturers website and other affiliated websites for you to perform your own research. Let's just say the watch has an illustrious and proven story and leave it at that.
First I must declare that this product was purchased from and shipped by Amazon.com, not by a vendor promotion in the Amazon.com marketplace. This is an important attribute because of the number of "knock off", "doctor", or the overused term "replica" name brand watches being sold as the faithful article by some of these less than reputable `gray market' vendors. This is critically eminent because of the money you will shell out to obtain this fine watch. I was apprehensive about purchasing this watch online because of the prodigal possibility of being scammed; however, I felt I could safely purchase a fine notice from Amazon.com because I had faith that their buyers sourced these watches legitimately in the wholesale vigil market. I don't believe that Amazon.com wants to damage their reputation by scamming the accessible by passing off fake watches as genuine and would take reasonable measures to settle the authenticity of their products offered and sold.
Before I purchased the Omega Speedmaster Automatic Chronograph Reduced make, I spent hours scouring the web for information regarding how to identify a pinchbeck Omega Speedmaster watch. What I found was occasionally a little contradictory, but there is enough for you to confidently verify and validate your take in as genuine without opening the case. As I said, information was contradictory from time to time, but more importantly, the characteristics to help determine a watch's authenticity are precise by the age of the watch itself and can bring authenticity in question when the wrong characteristics are convenient to an inappropriate year or even the correct model. This is because minute changes have occurred over the exactly half century of the watch being manufactured.
The reason why you have to go through this nightmare of web inspection is that unless the watch was registered with Omega by an "Authorized" dealer, Omega will declare the observation a fake, regardless if it is genuine or not. This is to protect the "Authorized" dealer's network and sales. This is influential because an Authorized reseller is NOT permitted to discount the price of the watch and must be sold at listing price. I have read in some cases, that the "Authorized" dealer is permitted to disregard the watch up to 15%, but this hasn't been confirmed. You'll need to confirm that yourself. If the retailer does discount the price, or discount it below the 15%, they may jeopardize their "Certified Dealer" status. Amazon.com and other "gray" market vendors can lower the watches more steeply, however they may not register them with Omega. Because the watch is not registered with Omega, genuine or not, Omega will not honor their example warranty. Amazon.com offers their own warranty for the Omega watches, which is actually a year longer than the fabricator's, to compensate for this.
Upon receipt of the watch, I carefully unpacked my watch and progressive all protective materials in place until I was satisfied it was genuine. The watch at home in the proper shipping box, inner red Omega box, instruction guide, and feature/serial digit cards. It also had all the proper laser etchings, matching serial numbers, and bracelet nomenclature. My observation arrived with bracelet model 1471/815. This is a great bracelet because it has a equivalent locking mechanism to that of Omega Seamaster. After inspecting the watch, I brought it to a former "Experienced" seller of the Omega product line from which I purchased my 2002 Omega Seamaster Talented Quartz Midsize for his assessment of the watch's authenticity. (Note - He was an capable dealer when I purchased my Omega Seamaster.) He declared, without opening the watchcase back, that the to was either genuine or an extremely impressive fake. After this, I had the dealer remove some links to combine my wrist size and began to wear it daily.
As for the watch itself, it is admirable, rugged but formal looking, and functional. It has the attention to detail you'd expect from such an valuable wristwatch. The watch has the characteristics more of an airplane gauge than that simply of a opulence watch. I feel I am wearing a fine, precision engineered medium. I don't get from some of the other lessor brand watches I own alongside my two Omegas and Rolex.
I mentioned quicker, my Omega Seamaster, which has equivalent quality of the Speedmaster. I also own a 2000 Rolex Submariner I purchased new without the woman function. Of all three watches, I appreciate the detail of this watch the most, but I like the sense of ruggedness I fondle wearing the Rolex Submariner and the Omega Seamaster. The Speedmaster, while being a "professional" watch like the other two, seems more "swish" due to the 1471/815 bracelet's highly polished links. The Rolex Submariner and Omega Speedmaster, can both be threadbare with a suit just fine, but they seem to me to be more appropriate worn with casual kit.
This model I purchased is the Omega Speedmaster Automatic Chronograph Reduced. This watch is a teensy-weensy smaller in size than the Omega Speedmaster. I purchased this model rather than the regular sized exemplar because I have a relatively small wrist compared to the size of my forearms. This sit with appears regular sized on me. If you have a larger wrist, this size skinned for may not be for you. You should opt for the normal sized model if you have any concerns about the watch size.
As to the purpose of the watch, I've only had it a month and haven't seen it lose time. What I have noticed, is that if the protect slips towards my hand and I arch my hand back far enough, like while driving, I every now depress the top button of the watch which stops the watch from moving. I was solicitous until I caught it one day. This is a self winding watch, and I found that it lasts longer than a day off the wrist before needing to be manually rewound and the chance reset.
The Reduced model watch (Omega Speedmaster Automatic Chronograph Reduced) is interrelated and very similar to the "Moonwatch" (Omega Speedmaster Professional Mechanical Chronograph Watch) but is not THE "Moonwatch" image. The key differentiators between the Reduced and the "Moonwatch" models are(1)size, the "Moonwatch" is (2) a unartistic watch (requires daily manual winding) while the Reduced is instinctive winding, and the "Moonwatch" (3) has a hesalite (plastic) crystal. The dials on the wait for face are also in different locations between the two models. There are some other minor, subtle differences between the two, but they exceedingly aren't worth mentioning, except to the purist of the "Moonwatch". If you are a purist of the Moonwatch, waste the extra money and purchase the "Moonwatch". You won't be happy unless you do, regardless of bounty or the feature advantages that the Omega Speedmaster Automatic Chronograph Reduced model offers. Curb the Omega website for the proper model number. It may have changed, but the most recent look was standard 3570.50.00. If you want a wonderful, classy, professional watch that is a progeny of the "Moonwatch" lineage and prefer a smaller sized watch, than this care for is for you...should you have enough disposable money to lay down for such a nice watch and not get buyers remorse. If you fancy an automatic watch that is larger in size, you may be more interested in the Omega Speedmaster Date Ineluctable Chronometer Chronograph Watch model number 3210.50.00. This keep an eye on has date feature which is missing from the Reduced model. Happy shopping.

A exemplar.
I looked hanker and hard before selecting this watch and I am really thrilled with it. All of the photos online dont do it punishment as, once it is on your wrist, you will see that it's a thing of beauty. The stainless case and strap are set off by the lowering, dark matt grey face and the bright hour and two secs markers. The lightly domed glass reflects and refracts and makes the mush sparkle in any light. Okay its not quite the moon watch but then who wants a take in with a plastic face anyway? Its near enough and you wont regret making the alternative of the smaller, better proportioned model at a fantastic price. My pattern keeps excellent time. I miss having a date role but again, a classic Speedy doesnt need it. Go for this model...you wont regretfulness it.

Implausible watch and relatively great value
The Omega Speedmaster is one of the most recognizable watches ever. Let alone the astounding history the company has in precision watchmaking.
The watch is amazing. It's in point of fact the perfect size for any wrist, even though I wish it were a few millimeters larger. The exactness is spot on. Easily <+/-4 seconds daily. Given that it's actually a ETA2892, that's not surprising.
While it is some what of an expensive watch, the value (especially on Amazon) is dogged to beat. Omega is a high-end luxury watch, but this is priced more at the level of Oris. Which is another liking watch manufacturer of mine.
The bracelet is solid and very comfortable on the wrist. It lays certain, as it should. it's also silent!
I have many quartz chronographs which are likely more accurate. However, there's something about a mechanical chronograph that is so tempting. I love how the second hand immediately jumps back to the 12 marker when resetting. And the sub-dial lieutenant hand ticks so smoothly away.
I usually write pros/cons, but this sentry is perfect in nearly every way. It would be a very nice addition to your collection or if it's the only watch you'll ever own. Strongly recommended!!

Very bad Election
Hi,
This is actually a very bad choice, at list my experience with it.
Since i bought it, the watch NEVER work well!
First it was operation to fast (5 minutes in 1 day).
Now is to slow.
And every time that the watch goes to put, is at least 1 month !
For this price is too expensive.
Yes i know, the moon watch...
That was the rationalization because of that i bought it, but...
You will regret !
When i bught it one friend of mine (that has one) told me, Thats a lot of problems what you have in your rist, and his adventures is equal to mine.
If you want buy it, but at least buy it, knowing what expects you.
This is by far my worst watch.
omega ?!?
No thanks !
For me after this expirience my wisdom is this:
Luxury watch's from Omega ?
No thanks !
THe watch is too expensive, it has the same problems that cheaper watches have, the after sales is very bad, and if you send it to condition is too expensive.
So, a cheaper watch will have problems as a "luxury", the reapir will be cheaper and you wont devote too mutch money on a watch.

Punk Planning: Omega Speedmaster
Before I communistic Hong Kong for Siam, I passed by another Omega peer at accumulate while once more in Causeway Bay (Hong Kong is deranged about watches so the density of euphoric end mind shops is entirely astonishing. I took the time to try the Speedmaster on for the first opportunity - It felt spesh. This definitive await is harmonious much one of the few 'as is' mortal brands that was fundamental to the Apollo Line of work moon landings including the first one in 1969. I definitely enjoyed explaining why 1969 was such a notable year to the organization, who style of treasured listening to more reasons to talk about the shield for sales reasons I undertake. I waffled on that there were five crucial and verifiable events in 1969. The most high-ranking was unquestionably the tender by the US military's specific projects mafia called DARPA, of DARPANET. This led to the internet which patently is wholly in fashion in many parts of the exceptional regardless of cultural leaning or notions of cultural leadership. It extremely much works for everyonel Then there was Woodstock which is where it got fascinating because the chief of the Omega inform on joined us at that station as he was old enough to commemorate that imaginings like compel passion, not war became mainstream as well as say, a wiser expertise in that marijuana wasn't to be sure an malefic downer if population took their outfit off and danced to the Appreciative Done for or the irreplacable Janis Joplin. I undeniably enjoyed having someone there who was even more experienced to talk about it than I. He was stylishly turned out, respectably dressed with wire set up specs and yet he seemed to endorse what may have looked like token lifestyle in its day but is essentially barely mainstream discrimination today. It feels notable for me to dividend from the trustworthy books I've be familiar with on the episode, that the British population were both simple and unfair in their treatment towards Yoko Ono. Once again they further eroded their point stature for symbolic generosity of spirit by being a push around...

Omega Speedmaster Professional MoonPhase 3689.30.31
What the Speedmaster Involuntary ref. ST376.0822 (also referred to as the Sanctified Grail Speedmaster ) was for Pitch Maddox , is the Speedmaster Maven Moonphase (ref.3689.30.31) for me. This pale-complexioned gold ingots Speedmaster Wizard (yes, labelled ‘Past master’) was introduced during BaselWorld 1999 by Omega. In the same year I bought my first serious contemplate, which happened to be a Speedmaster Proficient (superiority 321) as well.

The 18 carat virginal gold ingots Speedmaster Proficient Moonphase was only readily obtainable for a restrictive measure and commemorated the 30th centennial of the Apollo XI disembarkation in 1969. The flimsiness 1866 sign is based on Omega’s excellence 1861, which you purposes acknowledge as being the handwound chronograph migration of the Speedmaster Experienced. Sheerness 1866 is based on Lemania narrowness 1884, except that this one features a moonphase disc, a period and has a higher group of finishing (as with Omega distinction 1863 occupied in the ‘Moonwatch’ models with open out back).
Although this lookout is in being the same as the even Moonwatch, the silvered dial and moondisc (silvered moon in remedy on a metallic obscene disc) makes this alert for something important. The look of the 18 carat pale-complexioned gold ingots the truth quite won’t be noticed by anyone as facing to stainless sword, but the incline of this eye is significantly higher ofcourse. I young lady the experience of this creamy gold bars guard, but I would be stammering to exasperate this prematurely segment on a always infrastructure, since ivory gold ingots is a bit more defenceless for scratches (even though I am a escritoire-astronaut
).

The blued hands correspond nicely with the metallic dirty moonphase disc. The season and moonphase can be corrected through the two pushers at approx. 10 o’clock, for which you will want a toothpick to set. The tachymeter bezel is like the flat Speedmaster Businesslike Moonwatch (ref. 3750.50), made out of louring aluminium phone.
