    Not a Rolex
I owned one of these for about two years, and ended up selling it on eBay. It impoverished down, and after a very expensive repair (had to send it back twice because they didn't get it right) I got rid of it. The set up quality is simply not 'there.' The warranty is cheap, too, for such a pricey guard. Save your money and buy Rolex, although it's a lot more coin. They're built like a tank and have a seven-year undertaking. It's the type of watch that you pass on to your kids. This Omega is definitely not.

Rolex also natter its value, Omegas do not. That definitely should tell you something.
    Part of Narrative
I liked all the reviews here, fitting and bad. It helped me decide that I wanted a classic that my son would have long after I'm gone. And he'd be proficient to get it fixed for decades to come if necessary. He just turned 2.

I sourced out some Polywatch at the same epoch as the Omega. And yes, the hesalite does scuff easy. But Polywatch buffs out the scuffs wonderful easy using a cotton makeup remover pad.

My Moon keep one's eyes peeled keeps exceptional time. I forgot to wind it once on the first weekend but after that, each morning I assertive sure. After a month it's still on the same time as my Blackberry.

Thanks to everyone that took the measure to write their review!

    Handsomeness
Enough said. It is a paradigm generations over and is definitely a keeper. Is not the most precise watch (precise enough in my belief but does lose time, but frankly more often forget to wind it than it literally losing noticeable time) or the most functional (no date) but it is most rugged, dependable, and smart than can be had at this price from any brand.
    Bad guard
This is a unhappy watch. I bought mine 5 years ago and it's broken down 3 times. On two occassions it was out of promise, so I had to pay over $500 to get it fixed. Maybe I got a dodgy one, but from the sounds of other reviews in here, I'm not the only one. Yes, it looks proper, but it's going to cost you an arm and a leg to service and it keeps terrible time. All in all a very bad get. And by the way Omega servicing is useless. On both occassions it took them 6-8 weeks to handling my watch. My only hunch is that they get lots back, which really isn't a glowing reflection on the by-product.
A proud possessor of the 40th limited edition (silver apollo)
I have never splurged on a non-essential watch before in my life. Up to date, my most expensive watch had been a Movado, one that I enjoyed wearing greatly for the last 3-4 years. Recently I asseverative it was time to invest in a timepiece that I would love, be very presentable in business, but not too tawdry. Lastly, I wanted something that had good resale value instead of the me-toos that are now too commmon with so many models being released by every voluptuousness watch maker.

I ended up looking at the Moonwatch. I didn't get mine from Amazon - for that I am a first continually Omega buyer and didn't want to go with Grey market. I visited a DutyFreeShop in Singapore here last evensong and they had the limited edition of this same watch - (only 7969 was made) which came with a pleasing collectors case with a silver apollo coin and all the standards.
    [...]
I chose to buy this number instead of the regular versions, and though it set me back >5Grand USD, I am amazed at how happy and proud I am as an proprietor of this timepiece.

The manual movement is great. I like winding this quotidian. The watchstore guy told me to do about 10 winds / day, and never overdo -it , or you'll break the pin. The restrictive edition doesn't come in Sapphire crystal versions, which is powdered given its aim as a collector's item that resembled the original moon watches.

If you wish for a great watch, I would def go for this. Sapphire will be good if you want to go everyday with it. As my is the little edition, I intend on only wearing it on special occasions and will revert back to my Movado (which has sapphire), at elaborate areas like the airports, where I had many times been bumped by people. Escape these situations with this type of watch, and I'm sure you will be able to enjoy it for years and years.

Lastly, the self-winding impulsive has a great light ticking sound - I can already imagine my son wanting to imitate this thing from me in the future as it is just way cool.

With the way our Fed is printing money like no tomorrow, this is something I would take in all set of 5Grand of paper and enjoy for a lifetime.

    Product Description

Goodly and in charge, this Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow stainless steel automatic men's' protect boldly announces its presence, as comfortable negotiating deals in the boardroom as it is racing abandon rallies or navigating the breaking seas. This highly accurate timepiece is a duplicate of the famous manual-winding chronograph timepiece that was used during the first deplaning on the moon in 1969. It includes a chronograph with small seconds, 30-before you can say 'Jack Robinson', and 12-hour subdials. Definitively masculine in design, it features a sturdy, round silver stainless steel watch case with a rhodium-plated annihilate that blends brushed and polished surfaces and measures 41mm (1.61 inches) broad and 11.5mm (0.45 inches) deep.

The highly polished mellifluent bezel includes tachymeter markings in black, and it frames a engaged black dial background with large, luminous hands (with seconds authority) and baton dial markers in silver tone. Other features contain a clear sapphire back, scratch-resistant and glare-proofed vaulted sapphire crystal, and water resistance to meters feet (330 feet). It's completed by a hollowware stainless steel link bracelet band that offers impeccable highlights, which is joined by a secure, push-button clasp.

    Unconscious Watch Movement
An automatic watch is self-winding, and its action has a reserve that must be at least partially filled prior to being worn. This is done by shaking and winding the timepiece manually. In edict for an automatic timepiece to keep a reserve, it must be worn daily for 8 hours of physical wear. This watch as a 48-hour power reserve.

    The Omega Fairy tale
The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began bracelets assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by adjoining craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't come until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were captivated over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have covet been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is venerable for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Spit Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.

But Omega is more than barely a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned rank missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including transient grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The ultimate moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's outside as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega campaign is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to verify temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

    A model watch
I bought it in use accustomed to for $100 from a watch shop in San Diego in the early 1980s and have owned it for 30 years; it's a valued and together possession. It keeps fair time (probably needs a tidiness), it is useful for timing with it's build-in timer, but what makes it so cool is it was tatty on the moon. This gives it a provenance that is unmatched. In fact, it can be seen in Ron Howard's film Apollo 13. A acquaintance of mine in Washington, D.C. had one that Neil Armstrong had signed on the back.

If you are looking for a wrist-watch for life, this is it.
    THE MOONWATCH?
This is my move month with my Speedmaster "Sapphire Sandwich" and the watch is great! Keep in mind that the originals tester and certified by NASA in the 1960s had hesalite beaker and an OMEGA 321 movement inside.
So if you want a moonwatch you're better off getting a collector's one with an omega 321 "engine". This is an updated version that looks like the ingenious but has a beautiful sapphire window on the back so you can appreciate the craftsmanship of the movement without unscrewing the back travel over.

At this price it is a STEAL! and i was given a trade-in value quote higher than this charge of $2875 at a local jeweler.
    Abiding Timepiece...
I have several cardinal timepieces including Rolex, Breitling and Tag... but this Omega is my favorite. It came out the year I was instinctive in 1957 and looks as current today as it did back then. This is the only manual watch I have but find it strangely enjoyable to draught each morning before starting the day. It is a conversation piece at parties and people always seem to announce when I have it on. Great watch!
Epic Watch With Proud and Unique History
This is a well done watch with a legendary history and phenomenal following. It has been one of the most popular watches ever made by Omega since its introduction in 1957. The current Speedmaster Professionals come in multiple versions, but are for the most part only slightly changed in its over 50 year life.

    Why is it amazing?

During the 1960's expanse race with the Soviets, NASA did not have the time to announce an open meet from all interested watch companies to design a watch suitable for gap travel. This would have required bids from different manufacturers with the eventual assign of a government contract. NASA engineers in plain clothes went to downtown Houston and entered different high end stores and purchased high-end (i.e. expensive) manual discoverable wristwatches from 10 different brands, such as Omega, Rolex, etc. This was all done in secrecy and none of the skinned for manufacturers, such as Omega, were aware of this. NASA subjected the watches to grueling tests of temperature immoderation, shocks, humidity, extreme pressure changes, etc. All of the watches malfunctioned and could not exterminate all of the tests except for one, the Omega Speedmaster.

NASA began to equip their astronauts in 1962 for the Gemini missions with a Speedmaster devoted to by a strap to the OUTSIDE of the astronauts' suits. Omega executives saw NASA's photos of the astronauts and realized that they were using their watches. This was speedily confirmed with a phone call to NASA. NASA then quickly announced that the Omega Speedmaster was the sanctioned watch to be used on their space missions. Realize that this was all done without Omega's awareness.
    .
Bulova, an American watchmaker, pressured congressmen who pressured NASA to countenance for an open competition to include Bulova. NASA then allowed watchmakers to submit watches for figuring. Once again, the Omega Speedmaster Professional was the only watch that passed all of NASA's tests! Believe it or not, through constant tension from Bulova, NASA again had to hold an open competition a third time in 1978, and AGAIN, the Omega Speedmaster was found to be the only satisfying watch. This is the stuff of legends!

What attributes do all of the current versions of the Speedmaster Pro (3570.50, 3573.50, 3576.50, etc) have?

    1. Pleasing clear dial with luminous markers
    2. Chronograph (timer)
    3. 42.5 mm event size (good IMHO for wrists 6" and above)
    4. Classic unchanged looks from the starting 1957 design
    5. Wonderful manual wind mechanism with proven biography of reliability
    6. Water resistance of 50m or 167 feet (this is acceptable for "natural" use, but is certainly not intended to be a diver's watch)

What is specific to the 3573.50 a.k.a. "sapphire sandwich"?

    1. Cal 1863 mechanism (all of past and current movements are terrific and one should not be thought of as superior to another)
    2. Sapphire precious stone is used over the dial instead of the hesalite crystal (i.e. plexiglass) second-hand on the standard 3570.50 model. Sapphire crystal is much more scratch rebellious but can shatter with high impact. The traditional, standard 3570.50 epitome's hesalite is nearly impossible to shatter and its scratches can easily be out of the frame out. The original hesalite is also more authentic to the original moon watch intend as the sapphire crystal models were never approved by NASA.
    3. Sapphire gemstone caseback to show the beautiful movement. The traditional 3570.50 model has a stainless brace back.

What are the downsides of this 3573.50 "sapphire sandwich" compared to the standard 3570.50 original?

    1. Cost - this model is significantly more expensive
    2. Sapphire crystal can blast
    3. Sapphire cyrstal is less "authentic" when thinking about its NASA history
    4. Sapphire gemstone caseback is also less authentic than the original moonwatch

I strongly considered the more model, 3570.50 with the hesalite crystal plexiglass and the steel caseback, but I did not like the teachings of having to buff and polish out scratches on the plexiglass. It is supposed to be very lenient to do, but I just preferred sapphire crystal.

Even though it is less true to the original 1957 sketch, I liked the idea of sapphire crystal caseback to observe the excellent Omega movement.

If you either don't want to spend the extra money for these differences, or if you pick to have a truer, more authentic moonwatch, then get the 3570.50. People love that keep an eye on. Either way, you will most likely be pleased by its aesthetics, functionality, and history.

You should NOT buy any of these Speedmaster Pro models if you will be unsatisfying to use this as a diving watch. Get a Seamaster 300M or Planet Ocean for that be in want of.

As for its time keeping accuracy, most owners don't mind it all. If you are very concerned with preciseness, then a mechanical watch, even if it is COSC certified, is probably not the right standard of watch for you. A quartz watch will be significantly more accurate. I have heard that populace's experiences for the Speedmaster Pros range from -/+ of 0/0 -5/+15. It is not a certified clock by the COSC. This watch only needs to be wound every 1 or 2 days and its time adjusted about once every 1 or 2 weeks.

If you end up for some unexpected percipience to not like the watch, realize that this watch has a phenomenally high resale value and is very light to sell on various online auction sites.

mislabeled by amazon, but still a marvellous watch
Froward to amazon's listing for this watch, it is not an automatic, but rather a hand-wound colourless chronograph. Having said that, the Omega 3573.50 Speedmaster Professional is simply a terrific guard against. I preferred a sapphire crystal, which is why I chose this watch over the "actual" moonwatch (ref. 3570.50, with a hesalite rock and solid case back). It keeps great time, looks vast, and I love the ritual of winding it every morning. If you're considering a high-importance mechanical Swiss chronograph, take a long hard look at this anticipate. I love it.

    Praisefully recommended
I didn't buy this from Amazon - or any other of Amazon's vendors. Amazon has a happier price than I paid, but don't expect Omega to provide any warranty service. If you are okay with that, then by all means characterize oneself as free to buy from the 'gray market' here or someplace like Costco, where you will sometimes see Omegas at discounted prices.

The attend itself is an amazingly beautiful timepiece for 1/3rd the price of a Rolex Daytona, which would be its equivelent in that discredit. It is 40mm like the Daytona, and like that one, wears a little small pertinent to modern watches that are getting as large as 50mm (gross). However, to some of those blingy monsters it just screams understated quality. I firstly like the seamonster on the back.

The chrono automatic keeps essentially adept time, although remember, folks this isn't a quartz watch; it is completely standard for it to gain or lose the same amount in a day as a decent quartz does in a week. That said this one runs hardly about perfect at +2 per day on my wrist. I pull the crown out for 1 minute, once per month and all is well. The power inventory is outstanding and it will run nearly all weekend on my dresser if I have been wearing it for awhile. The subdials are easy to presume from and the lume is good, but not quite what you would see on a diver because the hands and indexes are smaller. The bracelet & clasp is unqualifiedly first rate and puts the much more expensive Rolex to shame.

As with any mechanical wary of, find a good watchmaker (good ones are getting hard to find so look around) and have this serviced every 5 years or when it starts runs down with dispatch or run fast. Omega will do this for you too, but at a much higher price. It is out of warranty at that point, so I personnaly propose support my local economy.

Given proper service, this is something you easy as pie could pass on to your children. Omega stocks parts for models 50 years or more old at this malapropos.

Highly recommended - In a nutshell a qualty, yet affordable timepiece that you rate to have spend a lifetime on your wrist.
A more careful review of the watch itself..
The uncontrollable with half the reviews so far is that they're complaints about the vendor, not the watch itself. There are other ways to assess the vendors/dealers that Amazon uses, not here on the product review. So far, I admiration this watch, love the way it looks & the compliments I get from it. It's a heavy watch, but that's not solitary to Omega, it's just all the internal components of an automatic watch. The diameter is skilful for me, not too oversized like some watches these days. It's got the perfect amount of info needed without looking too cluttered ( the later hand, date, chronograph.)

    - Looks: This is a beautiful watch when the make known be revealed catches the dials and it contrasts against the black face.
    - Accuracy: No, it's not effective to be as accurate as a quartz, but only requires adjustment every 3-4 weeks (and it's only off by 15-20 seconds)
    - Volume/comfort: It looks & feels great now, but the weight took some getting use to. If you're de facto tall or have big wrists, then the 40mm face may feel too small. I had a watch betray remove the links for me, and yes there are smaller adjustments on the clasp. I don't feel the logo to b a disturbance, and I do agree that resurfacing the back of the watch is an idiotic move.
    Depleted customer service
I am exceptionally disappointed with the level of service provided by amazon after my purchase of this inspect. Though they say a warranty card would be included with the product, it never was. Later, when i called up and asked why the guarantee wasn't included, a customer agent told me that it would follow through in the despatch a couple of weeks later.
    Surprise, it didn't.
When i called them again to find out where the guarantee was, another agent who barely spoke English informed me that the warranty is always included in the encase and that it is never sent separately. So whom do I believe? Its too late for me to return the product as it is over 30 era and I have no warranty card in the case of any repairs. Instead, all I was sent was an email join to the pdf version which I could have downloaded from the website anyway. i dread the day anything goes wrong with the attend to because I have nothing in hand and have to deal with incompetent service people and inconsistent policies as contrasted with.
My advice, pay the difference and get it from an authorised agent.
    Wonderful Omega attribute.
First-rate watch with wonderful and proven movement and Omega grade build. Being built off of the patch tested ETA/Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement this peer at sets an example of what the Swiss watch industry stands for. First-rate looks, and most importantly quality mechanics. The 7750 movement is a wonderful no side dishes durable and reliable movement and has had all of its important components upgraded and replaced by Omega to influence a rear it up to chronometer specifications. This watch is accurate well within +/- 2 seconds a day and and as far as that goes can go the whole month without resetting until the era must be changed. All in all excellent feel fit and finish. Just what you would expect from a characteristic watch manufacturer like Omega.
Without equal update to the classic moonwatch
The Omega Speedmaster is one of the most iconic watches in depiction, since it was chosen by NASA (over Rolexes, Breitlings, etc.) as the most space-worthy lookout available, and was the first watch worn on the moon. Of course, that was 50 years ago, and the happening that the Speedmaster still looks cool is an incredible testament to what a timeless design it has. Still though, the queer fish Speedmaster ("Professional" it was called) does look a bit dated. This watch solves that riddle: it has a curved sapphire crystal (shinier and harder than the shatterproof pliant they used in space), and beautiful polished markers, emblems, and subdials. The pictures don't do it legitimacy, as this watch looks thoroughly modern and beautiful, while still retaining the unchanging Speedmaster style. Do yourself a favor and go look at it in person at a jeweler. I also appreciate that it is 40mm. That is still eminently, but not stupid-huge like many other watches these days. The huge observation fad will pass soon, so you might regret buying something too large.

Omega started with the in fine valjoux 7750 movement, then modified it meet full COSC Clock accuracy standards for this watch, so it is also even more accurate than the original Moonwatch. The Speedmaster Man 3210.50 just has no downsides. Wear it with a business suit, or with shorts and a t-shirt. Buy this sentry, and enjoy it for another 50 years --when it will still probably look great.

Note: Several "bad reviews" on here are not as a matter of fact reviewing this watch, they are reviewing Amazon and its partner resellers. It's distinguished to understand that internet resellers (including Amazon) are considered "colourless market" (not quite black market, not quite legit). While you can be up to about 98% foolproof watches online are authentic, there are no guarantees from Omega either way. They won't service it for you, they won't warranty it, and they won't seal it's authentic. Therefore, you are at the mercy of whomever you buy it from. It's a tradeoff buying online.

    Omega Speedmaster Professional MoonPhase 3689.30.31

What the Speedmaster Spontaneous ref. ST376.0822 (also referred to as the God-fearing Grail Speedmaster ) was for Hurl Maddox , is the Speedmaster Professional Moonphase (ref.3689.30.31) for me. This innocent gold bars Speedmaster Professional (yes, labelled ‘Professional’) was introduced during BaselWorld 1999 by Omega. In the same year I bought my first serious on the qui vive for, which happened to be a Speedmaster Professional (narrowness 321) as well.

The 18 carat hoary gold ingots Speedmaster Professional Moonphase was only elbow for a predetermined ever and commemorated the 30th birthday of the Apollo XI touchdown in 1969. The flimsiness 1866 drive is based on Omega’s thinness 1861, which you purposes acknowledge as being the handwound chronograph move of the Speedmaster Professional. Daintiness 1866 is based on Lemania narrowness 1884, except that this one features a moonphase disc, a day and has a higher degree of finishing (as with Omega delicacy 1863 occupied in the ‘Moonwatch’ models with ostentation back).

Although this alert is in basically the same as the established Moonwatch, the silvered dial and moondisc (silvered moon in replacement on a metallic pornographic disc) makes this notice something esteemed. The look of the 18 carat immaculate gold bars envelope in all likelihood won’t be noticed by anyone as facing to stainless bear up, but the mass of this lookout is significantly higher ofcourse. I mate the pet of this pale-complexioned gold bars timepiece, but I would be irresolute to harass this ever chunk on a always footing, since ghostly gold ingots is a bit more W for scratches (even though I am a escritoire-astronaut ).

The blued hands juxtapose nicely with the metallic dirty moonphase disc.
