Product Description
Add a unvarnished classic to your timepiece collection with the amazingly precise and rugged Omega Speedmaster day-and-rendezvous men's watch (model 3222.80.00), the latest generation that first started with the timepiece intended for NASA in the 1960s. It features the Omega 3606 caliber automatic flicker, which has been certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Lever). Only 3 percent of watches produced in Switzerland are "chronometer-certified." To carry out this highly coveted certification, the movements are subjected to numerous tests over a era of 15 consecutive days and nights, in five positions and at three different temperatures.
The sentinel also includes a central chronograph hand with 30-minute and 12-hour subdial totalizers, 24-hour subdial, and day and month windows. The stout, round watch measures 39mm wide (1.54 inches) and 15mm thick (0.59 inches), and it's topped by a dejected-plated bezel with tachymeter readings. The blue dial upbringing has a circular Geneva wave pattern, luminous silver-air hands, luminous tipped stick hour markers, and mundane second indexes. It's completed by a silver stainless steel tie up bracelet band that offers polished highlights, which is joined by a procure, push-button clasp. Other features include a scratch-defiant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal, and water guerrilla to 100 meters (330 feet)--offering protection from lucky splashes as well suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and light recreational pitching.
Automatic Watch Movement
An automatic watch is self-winding, and its machinery has a reserve that must be at least partially filled prior to being worn. This is done by shaking and winding the timepiece manually. In broken-down for an automatic timepiece to keep a reserve, it must be worn daily for 8 hours of effective wear. This watch as a 44-hour power reserve.
How to Use a Tachymeter
A tachymeter is an what-d'you-call-it for measuring speed. It is a chronograph with a graduated dial on which speed can be understand off in kilometers per hour based on 1000 meters distance. For norm, the chronograph indicates that the distance of one kilometer has been covered in 30 seconds. The synchronized point on the tachymeter scale indicates 120, and thus the speed is 120km per hour.
The Omega Article
The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began in cahoots together assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by state craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't perform until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were bewitched over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have sustained been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is well-known for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Touch Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.
But Omega is more than only a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned elbow-room missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including spirit grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The highest moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's exterior as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega drift is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to dictate temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

Only id missing is a GMT hand! j/k
This is the most knotty mechanical/automatic watch I own. I bought this exact model a spot over 2 years ago from an authorized dealer overseas. I remember debating over the down versus black dial and eventually the blue won. The detail on the dial and inner dials is astounding and complement each other well. There are 8 hands total: hour, minute, second, 24-hour, timer blink, timer hour, timer second, and date hand. This chronograph does not keep elasped beat but it does reset to zero instantly upon button push. The month and day are simple to read but the date is difficult to read due to small arrow tip and busyness of the outer harshness of the dial. I often mistaken the date markers as minute markers when scene time. The lume is not as bright as my Rolex GMTIIc or Submariner but it's in all likelihood because of their size. The reserve is very good when you wind it up. I've gotten 3 days before. I do have 2 boy complaints. One is setting the date. If you go past the date accidently, the only way to go back is to set the period back a whole 24 hours. The other is the rotor weight. You get a weird vibration sensitive from the rotor rotating with sudden hand movements followed by a bright halt, like when you put your hand on a table right after you sit down. It can last for a few seconds. I do not get this sense with either of my Rolexes. My guess is the weight of the rotor is more significant on the Omega. At any rate, I ruminate over this is one of the best looking non-"Co-Axial" Omega's out there and will likely stay in my small aggregation for good. You can definitely tell this is a quality watch by the detail, weight, and tightness of the bracelet and grab.

Thrilled with purchase
I am very delighted with the look and functionality of the watch. This was my first watch and I feel I made the right sentence. I've had it for a few weeks now and it has kept perfect time. I love the look and seems to draws concentration from those who have an eye for quality watches. Overall, very pleased.

Magnificent watch!
This is a breathtaking watch and looks absolutely better in person. This Speedmaster is part of the Michael Schumacher hoard. The watch matches very well with sporty clothes, and even business attire. Its an fetching watch that looks its price, but not gaudy. The blue is deep enough to deterioration with a black suit, and the dials glow in the dark. It's an automatic be careful of so you will first have to wind the crown about 20 times to get it charged up and then wear it about 8 hours a day to keep the register power going.
I purchased this from Amazon at a discount compared to the shops at the mall. It comes with serial numbers laser inscribed, certificates, box, and case. The only sentiment you won't get is the Omega authorized dealer warranty card, but it's an authentic watch sold by Amazon, and Amazon offers a 2 year bond if you buy it from them, meaning they have to be the seller and not a Z shop.
I love it.

A Venerable
A mind for the collector who prizes the ideosyncratic.
Omega has created a quirky day/date self-acting (a big deal in the watch world) that isn't the price of an automobile. All automatics are a teeny-weeny less exact than quartz as far as timekeeping goes, but my speedmaster only gains about two minutes per month, and since I like using it, I don't overlook re-setting it from time to time.
The actual user manual is on-tack, very specific and clear about the controls.
But if you have no fascination with the art of watchmaking and the "complications" of bona fide, quality Swiss watchwork, go with a quartz; it's less "work"...

Omega speedmaster Chronograph
Whole I am pleased with this watch It is obviously well-made and the quality of the fabrication is apparent. However it does not keep antiquated as accurately as less expensive quartz watches I have owned. My biggest tract is the documentation that comes with it. It includes a booklet from Omega that describes the operation of many distinct watches and is keyed to the model number of the watch and schematics of each exemplar For one of the functions of my watch it gives instructions to use a button that isn't even present on my fastidious watch. So the assembly and proofreading, as well as accessiblity, of the instructions, leaves something to be desired. I muse on this watch will give years of good service and wear, but I expected more for this uniform of price.

Giant Watch !
Always wanted a disgraceful, white and a blue watch for my collection. Bought this silver one to done my collection and now own a Tag Aquaracer (Alarm & black dial), Omega Speedmaster(Day & Date, Automated, Silver dial), Omega Seamaster (Automatic, White dial) and Breitling Aeromarine Horse (Automatic, Blue dial) besides a bunch of Bulova, Citizen, Seiko, Timex etc. This is a very edible and stunning executive watch complementing formal and office abrade. I prefer my blue Breitling Colt otherwise - on most occasions and the Breitling is my first choice watch. The only problem with this watch is (it's an automatic) whenever I decide to wear it after a few life span - it take a few minutes to adjust the calendar (day, date, month etc) which is a pain and you needfulness to have something sharp (a pin) handy. I have given up on adjusting the calendar...just sync the constantly and get going.
No scratches on the glass after almost a year of good use. Keeps with an eye to time. Not heavy or big sized for my wrist. Simple yet elegant ! Adulation it !! Time to invest in some Wolf watch winder perhaps for all the automatics :-)

Dreadful watch
I bought this pay attention to last January and I haven't had a minute of regret. I agree with everyone else's review in that the await looks spectacular in person, so much better than in the photos, even the non-stock photos. Unfortunate to what others have experienced my watch only loses about 1-2 seconds a month.
The pearly face really sets the watch apart and gives it a treasure like quality. Not that it's inexpensive by any means, but it looks like it expenditure a lot more than it does. Because of the silver face in certain light it can be difficult to assume from, but it hasn't dissuaded me from wearing it and a twist of the wrist changes the visibility. I am so blithesome with it I just bought another Omega. I don't think you can wrong with this watch.

famous watch, but if I was to buy again ...
I've owned this keep one's eyes open for for about 2.5 years (although I didn't get it from Amazon). As others have said, the look at looks *much* better in person ... the stock Omega images do not do it even-handedness. Search around if you'd like a better image. There are just two things that pain me:
* Mine can lose or gain up to 60 seconds each week. This is a bit higher than I'd like, even for an unconscious.
* The hands can be hard to see at times. I wish there was a bit more contrast between the hands and the dial.
I take sorrow of the watch, but there are some scratches on the band and even a couple small ones on the box and bezel, but the crystal is mint ... as it should be.
I'm happy with my watch, it is my first pleasure watch, and I got it for a great price. If I had to do it over again, however, I'd likely pick one of the more classic speedmasters (e.g., the moon clock) or move up to a seamaster or maybe something from tag.

It never leaves my wrist.
This is the first consider I've ever written -- a testament to the quality and my love of this watch.
This pay attention to was given to me as a gift in 2004, and I can say without equivocation that it is the finest given I have ever received. My intended for this watch is ineffable. The only time I take it off is when I play piano because it is heavy on my wrist. Otherwise, it's always on my human being.
I've been tremendously [...] this watch, and it has held up well. There are some scratches on the band, but that is to be expected when you bore it everyday for 5 years. The face of the watch is still perfectly clean. But the be fulfilled value in the watch is its stunning beauty. It isn't ostentatious or gaudy -- it's fully beautiful. It's understated and clean and dare I say, Perfect?

I admiration this watch
I didn't buy this make through Amazon because you can actually find it cheaper by simply calling an authorized Omega relations and suggesting what you think is a fair price. Overall, I give this watch 5 stars. Sometimes I fully stare at it and think "wow, this watch is beautiful." The movement is easy and the self-winding mechanism actually has quite a bit of inertia behind it. There will be times that you'll move your arm suddently, and your wrist will pirouette for 15 seconds. At first I thought the watch was a bit heavy, but now I don't give it a second reminiscences. I also use the stopwatch much more frequently than I thought I would. Although I love the watch, there are a few minor complaints (none of which up my rating down):
1) it's not always so easy to read the numerical date. Part of me wishes the examine had a date window instead of a hand that points to the date on the outer superiority of the watch. That said, having the day of the week listed was a must for me, and Omega doesn't have a await that features the day of the week AND a date window. I am getting used to it though!
2) the latch on the ribbon scratches fairly easily (which is probably the case for most metal-lined watches). That said, I don't mind if the band is scratched, as I'm mostly distressed with the crystal. After 6 months of wear, I'm happy to report there's not a single cross out on the sapphire (knock on wood). I'm actually planning on switching the line to black leather to switch things up.
